In brief
This is an author website, not an advertising network. It does not sell personal information or use it for automated decisions. It collects an email address only when you choose to join the mailing list, and it runs optional analytics only after you allow them.
Who is responsible
Ross A Hewitt is responsible for personal information handled through rahewitt.com. For privacy questions or requests, email press@rahewitt.com.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is sent to MailerLite so R A Hewitt can send release news, publication information, and occasional notes about the books. The lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time through the unsubscribe link in any email. The address is kept until you unsubscribe or the list is closed, subject to a minimal suppression record where needed to respect your choice.
Optional analytics
If you allow analytics, Mixpanel receives deliberately selected events such as page views, sample-link clicks, and newsletter-form submissions. These can include technical information supplied by your browser, such as device and browser type, approximate location derived from an IP address, referring page, and a randomly generated identifier. Email addresses are not sent to Mixpanel. Automatic interaction capture and session recording are disabled.
Analytics is used to understand which pages are useful and improve the site. The lawful basis is your consent. Analytics data is retained under the site's Mixpanel project settings and reviewed periodically; it is deleted or aggregated when it is no longer useful.
Storage on your device
The site stores one necessary preference, rahewitt-analytics-consent, so it can remember your analytics choice. If you allow analytics, Mixpanel also uses browser storage for an analytics identifier and related settings. Mixpanel is not loaded before consent.
Service providers and international processing
MailerLite processes newsletter subscriptions and Mixpanel processes optional analytics. Hosting and delivery providers may also process limited technical logs needed to serve and secure the site. Where a provider processes information outside the UK, the transfer is handled under the provider's applicable data-protection safeguards.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal information, and you can object or withdraw consent. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Contact the address above to make a request.
